Courtesy visit to the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC)

Kuala Lumpur, 13 May 2022: The Malaysia Pallet Association (MPA) paid a courtesy visit to the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) in Kuala Lumpur on 11 May 2022 to introduce MPA as well as to discuss potential collaborations with MTC. The visit also enabled MPA to have a better understanding on MTC's role and functions especially in promoting the development of Malaysian timber and timber products globally.

The MPA delegation was led by its Advisor YBhg. Dato’ Andrew Goh Boon Kim. MPA was founded in 2012 and currently has 41 members from various industries such as wood, steel, aluminum, and plastic pallet as well as wood compressed pallets. The export of wooden pallets from Malaysia stood at USD101.16 million in 2021 while import at USD6.69 million. 

MTC was led by its CEO Mr. Muhtar Suhaili, COO Madam Noraihan Abdul Rahman, Director of Industry Development and Transformation Division (IDTD) Mr. Mokhtar Yaacob, Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Communications Division (SPCD) Ms. Lau Li Har together with SPCD Assistant Manager Mr. Adam Mohd Nazri and SPCD Executive Ms. Puteri Nur Aisyah Ruslan.

Other MPA delegation includes its Deputy President Hj. Mustaffa B. Mohd Yan, Vice President Mr. Cheah Poh Leong, Vice President Mr. Saw Eng Thai, Secretary Mr. Loong Kam Shing and several other MPA members. 

The meeting facilitated a fruitful exchange between MTC and MPA where both parties agreed to continue efforts to encourage more collaborative partnerships in the future that provide tangible solutions for the industry needs.
